Almas al Viento
A bilingual multimedia project documenting stories of community and resilience across Argentina. Built during an international reporting course at UNC in May 2025.
“We

designed
to
enhance—not
distract
from—the
journalism.”
About the Project
Over spring break, our international reporting class traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to document daily life amidst the country’s inflation crisis. I led development on the website for our team of 30 student journalists, building a fully custom, bilingual site from scratch. Working alongside designers and developers, we created a flexible CMS so each reporter, photographer, and videographer could upload their work themselves. We focused on user experience, mobile responsiveness, and visual storytelling—developing features like: - Immersive full-screen photo galleries - Scroll-based animations and transitions - Dark mode video overlays - Dual-language toggles across every story This project demonstrates my ability to build robust publishing platforms that center the story. Built with Eleventy, TailwindCSS, DecapCMS, and Netlify.
